This announcement contains a compiled list of research funding opportunities from external and campus sources including some announcements that may not be broadly distributed due to the specificity of their focus. This is not a comprehensive list of all opportunities for research funding. Please use and share this information as appropriate. 

New Funding Opportunities from External Sources

The OVCR frequently receives announcements and calls for proposals from external sources. This week's opportunities are listed below. Additionally, several federal agencies such as NIH, NEH, NSF, DOD, and DOE offer the ability to directly subscribe to their alerts. Illinois International Programs Seeking Nominations for International Achievement Awards

Illinois International Programs is sending out a call for nominations for the annual Illinois International Achievement Awards. The awards recognize alumni, faculty, and students whose work has had a global impact. Submit nominations here.

Indo–U.S. Research Symposium
Explore collaboration and career opportunities with leading scientists from India and the U.S. on September 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in 1025 Beckman Institute. Registration is mandatory and can be completed here.

Request Time on Blue Waters Supercomputer
Blue Waters is one of the world's most powerful supercomputing systems and can provide Illinois faculty and staff significant computing power. Proposals are accepted twice per year, and the next deadline is September 15. Submit proposals here

Save the Date for Human Subject Research Conference
On November 10, the Office for the Protection of Research Subjects, in collaboration with the Beckman Institute, is hosting an inaugural human subject research conference. The conference will help inform the wider research community of all considerations during the IRB process and will provide discussions between researchers, administrators, and community partners. More details to come.

Limited Submissions

Government agencies, private foundations, and corporate sponsors often limit the number of proposals, applications, or nominations permitted from a single institution. The OVCR regularly distributes limited submission information. The current list is posted here (campus login required).
