The Chapter Presidents Retreat is an event that provides all chapter presidents with invaluable information, fun, leadership training, and networking opportunities. The curriculum is designed specifically for chapter presidents.

All newly elected Chapter Presidents must attend the New Chapter President Orientation to learn about the roster system, expectations of Chapter Presidents and meet the Fraternity & Sorority Affairs staff.

Walk As One  
Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, Champaign Police Department and University of Illinois Police Department are looking for student volunteers to join them as they walk through the campus town area distributing alcohol safety and general safety information to student residences. Walk As One will take place on Wednesday, February 24h We are excited to have been asked to have fraternity and sorority members engage in this volunteer work as both a way to interact with our local police officers as well as distribute alcohol safety information to the student body. Help us make this a successful collaboration! Please email and let us know how many chapter members are able to volunteer. (Example Email: “Beta Beta Beta will have 15 volunteers.”) We will be back in touch with the chapters that are volunteering with the meeting location and any other relevant details.

Become a Student Alumni Ambassadors
The Student Alumni Ambassadors is a premier Registered Student Organization on campus which focuses on developing our members professionally and creatively while planning and executing large scale events to engage the campus-community in what it truly means to be an Illini.  Some of our feature events include Illinois Sights and Sounds, iHelp, Homecoming programming, Senior 100 Honorary, and GradFest.  Additionally, SAA provides its members with countless opportunities to engage with campus and grow professionally through Service Requests across many campus units.  While giving students an opportunity to engage with campus through our programming, providing countless leadership opportunities, and molding students to be active on this campus in order to become engaged alumni, the Student Alumni Ambassadors is a family that takes great pride in our work and our membership.

Join students from across campus and our guest facilitators for this leadership-altering workshop. Facilitated by nationally-recognized educators Becky Martinez and Craig Elliott, this training will help participants:

  • Build Connections
  • Develop New Skills
  • Cultivate Passion
  • Create Social Change
  • Explore Identity
  • Lead Consciously

The training is free and includes lunch.  Participation in the Diversity & Leadership Summit also counts towards the Leadership Certificate and LENS Diversity Certificate programs.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Tutoring Opportunity:
Make a difference in a child’s life by volunteering to be a reading tutor!  Come to the Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club twice a week to tutor two students, one at a time, for 45 minutes apiece.  You will work with a reading specialist who will provide you with the lesson plans!  If you are interested in volunteering for this great program, please contact Katlynne Wood at as soon as possible.  We will be starting soon!

Grade School Volunteers Needed 
Dr. Howard Elementary School is looking for volunteers to mentor students, read with students, and work with students to re-enforce academic skills. The school day begins at 7:45am and ends at 2:00pm, volunteering days and times are flexible.  For more information contact Jeff Dobbs at
