*We would like to congratulate all of the Bond County 4-H members who recently participated in the 2021 Bond County 4-H shows. A huge thank you to all of our judges and volunteers for making this show season a huge success.

*Congratulations to the five Bond County 4-H members that exhibited in the Illinois State Junior Horse Show last week. We are very proud of your winnings and accomplishments.

*Good luck to all of our members that will be exhibiting in the Livestock and General Projects shows at the State Fair this month. We know you will make us proud.

*Youth Representatives wanted- we are looking for more youth reps to join our small group. Anyone in grades 8 and up are welcome to join us. Please get in touch with Vicki or let your club leader know if you are interested.

*National 4-H Week is coming up in October. We are looking for some fun activities to do this year. Please contact Vicki at the office if you have any fabulous ideas. We will be sponsoring the window/table displays as always. So all clubs need to be coming up with some ideas for a display.

 
 
 
 
Award Applications are due Sept. 15

It's time to wrap up our 4-H year, as we gear up to start the new one. Now is the time to complete award applications, take a look at what you learned in the past year and think about goals you want to set for next year. ALL award applications for the 2020-2021 program year are due to the office no later than end of day on Sept. 15.  Local 4-H scholarship applications, and club treasurer and secretary books are also due on Sept. 15.

4-H Shooting Sports Volunteers Wanted!

 
 

Illinois 4-H seeks volunteers wishing to be considered for Level II (State Instructor) certification in the disciplines of Rifle, Archery, Pistol, Coordinator, or Shotgun. Qualified candidates must be certified and active as a Level I (County-level 4-H Club Leader) for a minimum of 3 years. Chosen applicants are required to attend a 5-day certification workshop in Virginia held Oct. 25-29, 2021. Workshop registration fees are paid by the Illinois 4-H Foundation.

Level II instructors are expected to volunteer for a minimum of three years providing instruction at Illinois 4-H Shooting Sports Level I certification workshops (bi-annual) and assist with annual State Shoots relating to their discipline.

FYI 81 new 4-H Leaders have been certified to lead shooting sports clubs since June! These individuals are the most intensely trained volunteers in Illinois 4-H. Thanks to the commitment of these dedicated volunteers, 4-H archery, shotgun, rifle, and pistol clubs are growing once again!

4-H is collaborating with the Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology to launch the first ever 2021 eSports Competition on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 at the Orr Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield. A paid admission to the State Fair is required to enter the Fairgrounds. Admission to the Orr Building and participation in the competition are free!
