Welcome, Matthew Magee!
Please give a big AITS welcome to Matthew Magee who has recently joined our unit as an Enterprise Application Administration Specialist! Matthew is from Tuscola, Illinois and has been there his entire life. He previously worked at Parkland College in the IT department in some capacity since late 2010. Matthew has a beautiful wife and a son that is now 16 months old! In his free time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family, working on his old house, and working on computers! Let's get to know our newest team member a little better:
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
What is your favorite place in the world and why?
MM: Home. It's where all of my favorite people are.
What is the coolest thing you're working on right now?
MM: I'm working on my old house. The work never ends, but that is the fun of it. There is always something to do and something to learn.
Do you own any pets?
MM: Two dogs and a lizard. Their names are Peyton, Speedy, and Denver.

Im an ITPro in the mathematics Dept at UIUC.
I needed assistance for one of the folks I support who was having trouble with DocuSign and having the 24/7 AITS Service Desk allowed me to look good providing assistance over fall break.
I've worked Helpdesk positions before and the less desirable positions are during family holidays — none of that came through on the phone. The person (a female voice) who answered the phone did a great job, didn't have the answer but followed up and called me back in 5-10 minutes to clarify. They did a great job, made me look good so I'm passing on the accolades.

Wanted to let you know the status of setting up Police Training Institute & Illinois Fire Safety Institute for campus COVID Testing.
PTI setup is complete, with all cadets getting UINs, NetIDs and visitor iCards. Also, all cadets have the Safer IL app on their phones and were tested today.
ISFI had a bit of a setback. All cadets have been entered into the system and are awaiting receipt of their netids so they can install the Safer IL app. They’ll return Nov 2nd to complete their instruction and should be able to test immediately on their return.
I want to give a big shout out to Ester Cha and Patrick Schlehuber. Ester did a marvelous job of orchestrating the various processes that need to be completed and Patrick did a great job of training the unit managers and assisting with getting the cadets into the system so they could get credentialed and ready for testing.
