Dear Faculty, Students, Staff and Friends:

It has been 150 years exactly since the signing of the state legislation that formally established what would become the University of Illinois.

I hope you’ll take a couple of minutes to watch this short video commemorating that day, where we’ve come since then and imagining where we will go in the next 150 years.

And I invite all of you to join us today at 3:00 p.m. at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts for our Sesquicentennial Kick-Off Celebration. Featuring musical performances by our own faculty, staff and students, it is free and all are welcome to attend.

Best Wishes,

Robert J. Jones
Chancellor
