Hugo is an experienced, award-winning, broadcast & digital media news executive directing growth and innovation in several divisions and businesses in the U.S. and Latin America. Hugo is a two-time president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ). In 2016, he was inducted into the NAHJ Hall Of Fame. His nearly 30 years of experience include his current roles as Contributing Writer for The Chicago Reporter and Owner/Publisher of the Latino News Network. He is the former News Director at WTTW-11 and held various leadership positions with ABC, ESPN, CBS, and Telemundo news networks.

Bystander Intervention Training
In response to the sharp and sustained rise in anti-Asian hate, the Asian American Cultural Center will be hosting a Bystander Intervention Training. This one-hour, interactive Zoom workshop is tailored for high school and college students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and community members of all identities. The training is available for Friday, April 16, 2021 from 2:00-3:00 pm (Central Time).

Free Memorial Stadium Movies
Come out to Memorial Stadium on Saturday, April 11 and April 24 for a FREE movie showing. Gates open at 7:30 pm and the movie starts at 8:00 pm. There will be limited supplies of FREE popcorn and drink. We also invite you to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverage. Open to UIUC students only with a valid student ID. Face covering and social distancing will be required.
