Champaign County Head Start Hosting Job Fair, Hiring Teachers
Champaign County Head Start is hosting a Sept. 19 job fair at 1603 E. Mumford Drive in Urbana from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The organization will hold on-the-spot interviews at the Urbana Head Start facility and is seeking teachers (including preschool teachers), teacher aides, and substitute teachers. Assist with Walking School Bus in Urbana
Urbana School District 116 is seeking students who can pick up children from a designated stop and walk them to school. The service will take one or two hours a week and will stand out as an outstanding volunteer activity on a résumé and letter of recommendation. Meet Writing Goals via Writers Workshops
The Writers Workshop on campus helps undergraduates meet their writing goals in a distraction-free setting. Learn About and Apply for Global Markets & Society Minor
Application Deadline: Oct. 15

Students can now apply for the global markets & society minor in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. Watch a video to learn more and drop off your application at 616 E. Green St., Suite 201. Informational sessions will be held at the same location on Oct. 12 (2:30 p.m.), Nov. 13 (1:30 p.m.), and Dec. 8 (11 a.m.). Assist Those Who Experience Food Insecurity
Volunteers are needed to help with cooking, greeting, hosting, serving, dishwashing, and other roles during the Jubilee Café, a new weekly meal for students and community members who are experiencing food insecurity. The dinners will take place from 5-6:30 p.m. in the lower level of Community United Church (805 S. Sixth St., Champaign). Sign up to assist on any of these dates: Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30

Kevin T. Early Memorial Scholarship for Poetic Freshmen
Application Deadline: Oct. 30

Open to students in all majors, the $2,000 Kevin T. Early Memorial Scholarship is for 2017-18 freshmen who have demonstrated an aptitude for and a skill in writing poetry. Students must submit five unpublished poems, and the complete manuscript should not exceed five pages.
