Illinois Theater Performances of Travesties

Illinois Theater will perform Tom Stoppard’s play Travesties, which explores the meaning of the social, political, and cultural revolutions of 1917 in the dialogue between the protagonist, and three historical figures: James Joyce, Tristan Tzara, the founder of Dadaism, and Vladimir Lenin.
Films of the Revolution Screening: The Commissar

Drawn from the classic Soviet repertoire, the films above will be screened over the course of a month and a half, with an introduction and post-film discussion to accompany each one.
