UI Stride: Walktober

The System Office Wellness Committee is excited to invite you and your family to participate in the upcoming UI Stride Walktober program. With fall just around the corner this program is going to provide the perfect incentive to get outdoors and soak up the sights and smells of the season. Employee Performance Appraisals

We have reached the time of year where employees, along with their managers, must complete annual performance appraisals. The deadline for completion for Academic Year 2019-2020 appraisals is August 15, 2020. Please check with your manager to see if they have set a team deadline prior to that date to allow time for review and approval.

Annual HIPAA Training

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) is designed to assure the privacy and security of health information held or transmitted by the University of Illinois (University) in support of its HIPAA covered functions and activities. Annually, University of Illinois employees are mandated to complete a HIPAA training course.

Annual HIPAA Training will being on Monday, August 3, 2020. You will have 30 days to complete this training. Please watch for an email from the University Ethics and Compliance Office with instructions on how to access and complete this years training.

COVID-19 Safety Training

Ensuring the health and safety of our employees during the COVID-19 pandemic remains a top priority for the System Offices. In preparation of our return to the workplace in the future, we are asking System Office employees to complete the COVID-19 Safety Training. The training shares information that will help prevent the transmission of COVID-19 on campus, including social and physical distancing, staying home if you are sick, proper hygiene measures, use of face covering, and cleaning and disinfection procedures.

You may access the COVID-19 Safety Training in Ability LMS, using your Netid and password. All System Office employees should complete this short training by September 30, 2020.

TAM Team Recognition Program

AITS's Technical Application Management (TAM) leadership members have initiated a recognition program within in their team! This program was developed to recognize team members for the hard work that is done day-in and day-out. Each month, two team members will be recognized as the TAM Employees of the Month for their excellence in tasks, projects, and daily work.

TAM Employees of the Month - June

Sonya Shipley
Sonya is consistently a key contributor on the AITS HR/Payroll team. She is on three production facing support groups: CFIM, TAM HR Security, and HR Configuration, and she does an amazing job at staying on top of all of her issues. Sonya is very invested in making sure that all of her client's needs are met. Recently, she has been dealing with a very lengthy and complicated CFIM issue. Janet Shaw from UIC ACCC, conveyed great appreciation for Sonya's continued persistence about an issue that didn't look right to her. Sonya does an amazing job with CFIM, but it's wonderful to see kudos from outside of AITS.

Stacey Neil
Stacey is being recognized for her continued leadership on the Cross-Functional Identity Management (CFIM) team and her strong commitment to our University clients. Over the past few months, Stacey has done an excellent job taking on more responsibilities, including the facilitation and coordination of our monthly cross-functional meeting which includes over fifty people from across the three Universities and the System Offices. She always has her pulse on what is happening across the three Universities and how any changes could potentially impact the business process related to person identity. Stacey is passionate about making sure identity issues do not interfere or cause a negative experience for students, faculty or staff and she routinely goes above and beyond to provide excellent and timely customer support (often from behind the scenes). Not only does Stacey have a breadth of knowledge, she is always amazing to work with and ensures that she is available to support both her AITS colleagues as well as our outside clients. As an AITS colleague wrote to me recently – “I called Stacey--who always makes herself very available for questions on a moment’s notice--to make sure I was thinking correctly. She not only reinforced my thinking but added to my knowledge in such a way that I gained the confidence to redouble my efforts for a better approach to serving this particular student’s needs. When the college is large, individual attention can get lost, and this student might otherwise have felt like just another number, not a name. But Stacey was there to prevent that, and, anonymously from behind the scenes, let this student know his individual identity is of paramount importance to us no matter how large our institution. He now feels that the University of Illinois respects his personal identity, thanks to our unsung hero, Stacey Neil.”.
