The phrase "digital humanities" signals many different kinds of scholarly activity. This talk will introduce how this term has been used, some of its genealogies, and the kinds of research and teaching projects it tends to encompass. Following the initial discussion, we'll look at examples of digital humanities projects about or produced in the African Studies.

The Women in Film Middle East Film Series features films by female directors from Egypt, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.

This talk presents the results of a multi-directional research project at the Roman/Punic site of Zita, Tunisia, which is investigating the mechanics of imperial control between peer polities once one of them is vanquished.
