Class of '65 celebrates
The Class of 1965 celebrated their 53rd reunion in Door County, Wisconsin, Oct 15-19. Classmates enjoyed a talent show, special dinners (including a Door County fish boil), hiking through a “Ridges and Swales” preserve on Lake Michigan, and a trek along the western terminus of the Niagara Escarpment (the eastern end is Niagara Falls). Classmates came from as far away as Japan, Israel, and Switzerland for the event.
The class of 1965 is planning to make a class donation to the school.
Uni senior appears on Teen Jeopardy!
Uni senior Tim Cho appeared on Teen Jeopardy! twice during the week of Nov. 12. He won his first round, then advanced to the semi-finals, where he took second place just $1 behind the winner of the round. Uni students held "watch parties" to cheer for both of Cho's appearances.
Cho was also featured in a story in The News-Gazette, and Uni senior Nathalie Stein was invited to cover the day of the semi-final for The News-Gazette's Snapchat feed.
The Nov. 12 episode can be viewed here and the Nov. 14 is here.
Food pantry club raises $1,036 for local food pantry
Uni's Food Pantry Club held its annual Thanksgiving food sale the Monday before Thanksgiving. The club sells a variety of traditional Thanksgiving foods each year to raise money for the Wesley Food Pantry on campus. Club members also package rice and beans for Wesley throughout the school year.
The turkey is donated from a local caterer, and the side dishes and desserts are donated by Uni families.
We have set a campaign goal of $10,000,000 to ensure we are able to impact the lives of students and move education forward for the next 100 years. We are thrilled to have already received 78% of our goal and to have the opportunity to not only meet, but exceed that goal.
