College of Media Scholarship Application Now Open!
The 2021-2022 scholarship application for continuing College of Media undergraduate students is now open. All students who will be returning as an undergraduate student in the College of Media in Fall 2021 are eligible to apply.
Students must apply to be considered for a scholarship from the College of Media. All submissions are due by 12:00 PM CDT on Friday, May 7, 2021.
Convocation Student Speaker
If you are graduating in Spring 2021 or Summer 2021, you are invited to audition to be the student speaker at the College of Media virtual Convocation Ceremony.
Speeches should be 5-7 minutes long. Sign up to audition by April 11.

Hugo is an experienced, award-winning, broadcast & digital media news executive directing growth and innovation in several divisions and businesses in the U.S. and Latin America. Hugo is a two-time president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ). In 2016, he was inducted into the NAHJ Hall Of Fame. His nearly 30 years of experience include his current roles as Contributing Writer for The Chicago Reporter and Owner/Publisher of the Latino News Network. He is the former News Director at WTTW-11 and held various leadership positions with ABC, ESPN, CBS, and Telemundo news networks.
Bystander Intervention Training
In response to the sharp and sustained rise in anti-Asian hate, the Asian American Cultural Center will be hosting a Bystander Intervention Training. This one-hour, interactive Zoom workshop is tailored for high school and college students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and community members of all identities. The training is available for Friday, April 16, 2021 from 2:00-3:00 pm (Central Time).
