Keep Young Children Safe in the Car

IEL has revised its tip sheet Keep Young Children Safe in the Car to align to the latest rules regarding car safety seats and positioning young children’s seats when transporting them in vehicles. This tip sheet is available in Spanish, Polish, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Arabic, and French.

Attendance Matters!

Attendance in preschool and the early grades greatly impacts young children’s learning and development. Young children are forming habits that may last well into their elementary school years. The IEL Project has developed a Preschool Attendance Tool Kit that teachers may use to encourage young children’s attendance. Check out the ideas for winter break to encourage families to have their children return to preschool after the holidays.

Resources for Prevention Initiative Programs

Our infant/toddler tip sheets can be downloaded from the website or mailed to you if you have an Illinois address. Early Learning Moments videos are available to share with families of infants and toddlers when discussing development and the strategies for interaction found on the Illinois Early Learning Guidelines for Children Age Birth to Three (IELG). Guidelines videos show and describe the strategies teachers or caregivers use in child care settings to help children meet IELG standards.
