Advertising alum creates two highest-rated ads for Super Bowl

Patrick Burke doesn’t usually like waking up to a work text at 5 a.m. … unless it’s saying that his commercials got the #1 and #2 spots for the USA Today Super Bowl AdMeter poll. The winning ads, which Burke wrote, were for Rocket Mortgage starring Tracy Morgan, humorously demonstrating the difference between being “pretty sure” and “certain” about buying a home.

University of Illinois Alumni Association Presents: A Glitch in the Matrix
Available to rent through April 6
Note: Partial proceeds from film rental will benefit the Department of Media & Cinema Studies General Gift Fund.

Acclaimed filmmaker Rodney Ascher (ROOM 237, THE NIGHTMARE) uses a noted speech from Philip K. Dick to dive down the rabbit hole of science, philosophy, and conspiracy theory. Leaving no stone unturned in exploring the unprovable, the film uses contemporary cultural touchstones like THE MATRIX, interviews with real people shrouded in digital avatars, and a wide array of voices, expert and amateur alike.
