Use Our IEL Graphic Tip Sheets

Is your program hosting a special family event, parent/teacher conference, or developing a welcoming family center? IEL Graphic Tip Sheets address a variety of topics of interest to families of young children. All 26 graphic Tip Sheets are available to be printed or downloaded from our website in English, Spanish, Polish, Arabic, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and French. Printed copies in English and Spanish can be mailed to Illinois addresses.

Challenge Young Artists to Create in Three Dimensions

In her latest blog, Dr. Rebecca Swartz discusses how encouraging young children to create in three dimensions allows young artists to explore design properties in new ways. For example, when creating in three dimensions, children must choose the most appropriate media, balance the objects in their creations, and problem-solve how to attach materials. Through trial and error, they can discover the possibilities of what they can create.

Check Out Our Resource Lists

IEL has created 43 resource lists that focus on topics of interest to families, caregivers, teachers, coaches, and administrators. Our resource lists include links to videos, web articles, podcasts, and IEL Tip Sheets. These lists are updated occasionally to make sure they have the latest resources available in the field. Check out one of our newer resource lists, Explore the Arts with Young Children.

Webinar: Inclusive ECE Classrooms and the Project Approach

On Feb. 20 Paul H. Brookes Publishing is sponsoring a free webinar featuring IEL Project contributors Dr. Sallee Beneke and Dr. Micki Ostrosky. During this webinar the presenters will review strategies and share examples and resources for meeting the needs of young children with diverse abilities through the Project Approach.
