CCIL Welcomes New Assistant Director for Education
Dr. Marcia "Marci" Pool joins the CCIL as the new Assistant Director for Education. Since 2015, Marcia has been the Director of Undergraduate Programs for the Department of Bioengineering at Illinois. She has been actively involved in CCIL education programs, such as researcHStart and the Cancer Scholars Program. Her expertise and leadership will be instrumental as the CCIL continues to expand its educational programs. 

 
 
 
 
 

2019 William G. Fateley Student Award
Shachi Mittal, a graduate student in Rohit Bhargava's lab, is this year's recipient of the William G. Fateley Student Award, an annual honor given by The Coblentz Society and The Society for Applied Spectroscopy to students who promote and advance the science spectroscopy. Mittal's research focuses on developing models using spectroscopy data for early cancer diagnosis and prognostic assessment, particularly in breast cancer.
