July 2019
UIF Advancement Insider
An inside update on services provided by the University of Illinois Foundation
UIF, I Have A Problem....or Just a Request!

The Week of July 22, UIF IT Operations will be launcing the new the UIF Support online ticketing system that will provide you the customer a new way of submitting new tickets as well as accessing your previously closed and currently open tickets. You will still be able to interact with your submitted ticket through email correspondence, but you will also be able to interact with the agent that is working on your ticket within the online ticketing system and get a status update on your request.

Forms that you have used previously within TED - UIF Help to request assistance will eventually be replaced by the new online ticketing system, however those links will still be active for a period of time to assist with the transition.

Please take a moment and follow along with this training module to learn how to submit and track your ticket(s) in the new UIF Support ticketing system.

Stay tuned for updates within TED in the News & Updates forum once the new ticketing system has been launched. Any questions regarding this please contact aims@uif.uillinois.edu.

UIF Online Gets a Facelift

Have you seen the new UIF Online?  If not, you should really take a look! The site will grow over time, so come back often to see a wide range of
advancement resources.

Accounting and Fund Searches

With the UIF Online “reboot”, the Accounting Search and Fund Search moved from UIF Online into TED.  If you are a Business Manager you will find these on your TED Business Managers tab.  All others will see them on the UI Reporting tab.

May 2019 Graduates Now in TED

Last week the 2019 May Graduate data was loaded into TED. Later this fall, the Summer graduates and Fall students will be updated. Please watch the TED Calendar for these future dates!

CVENT Registration Data Flow to TED

COMING THIS AUGUST! A daily pull of the registration and cancellations will begin in the middle of August . This will allow event staffs to no longer have to update registration information on the TED Event. Stay Tuned for more communication about the launch of this new data solution!

Gift Planning Liaison Program

In order to better serve their advancement colleagues, the UIF Office of Gift Planning and Trust Services (GPTS) offers the Gift Planning Liaison Program.  A gift planner from GPTS is assigned to each university, college, or unit to ensure ongoing support and integration with front-line fundraising efforts.  This maximizes fundraising success and ensures ongoing communication between GPTS and each unit’s advancement team.

Gift Planning Liaisons provide support in a variety of ways, including consultation on prospect strategy and potential gift structure, strategic planning around gift planning initiatives, content creation and review of marketing efforts, training and education for staff and prospective donors, follow up on Generations leads and marketing responses, and stewardship of deferred gifts.

Gift Planning Liaison assignments are as follows:

UIS, Vet Med, AHS, FAA, Social Work, EDU, LER and WILL – Justin Seno

UIC, all medicine (regardless of campus – except Carle-Illinois), Gies – Jason Shuba

LAS, Law, Library, iSchool, Allerton, Student Affairs, Uni-High – Jeff Roley

Media, Carle-Illinois College of Medicine, all Urbana Institutes – Shari Fox

ACES, ENG, DIA/Athletics – Meg Cline

This program does not preclude a gift officer from choosing to work with someone they choose.  GPTS encourages gift officers to work with the gift planning officer best suited for the needs of the donor.  If you have questions about the Gift Planning Liaison Program, please contact Meg Cline at 217-244-0800.

New Instructor Lead Course

Title: "Understanding Planned Gifts in TED"

Overview: This instructor-led course will improve your ability to find and make the most of the (sometimes complicated) gift planning information in TED. After participating in the course you will be better able to: (1) understand the differences between revocable and irrevocable planned gifts, (2) identify which donors have planned gifts on record with UIF, and (3) research key data about specific booked and unbookable planned gifts. This course is designed for any advancement stakeholders who access/use TED-based gift planning information, including CAOs/DOAs, major gift officers, leadership annual giving officers, stewardship/donor relations personnel, and business managers.

Easily Change Sessions
Learners now have the option to change sessions in iLearn. If you sign up for an instructor led course but are later unable to attend, iLearn now provides the option to change to a different session or cancel entirely.

We hope that this encourages everyone to take a second look at their enrollments as well as our catalog for any potential sessions to attend.

Coming Soon!

UIF Support Course
