B.S. Information Sciences
This email provides updates for the B.S. Information Sciences (BS/IS) degree. This degree officially begins Fall 2020, but we encourage students to begin taking courses immediately, work with our advisor, and become involved with the iSchool. BS/IS WEBSITE
Make sure to check out our 'GET INVOLVED' section below as we have a number of excellent opportunities for students.
IS 205 Programming for Information Problems
Substitutions for this course include: CS 101, CS 105*, CS 125, CS/STAT/IS 107*.
*If you took CS 105 and/or IS 107, you may benefit by taking IS 205 in a future semester (and one course would count as an IS elective)
Our curriculum includes IS Electives which allows students to explore various courses of interest, or a certain Pathway (Information & Culture; Data & Society; Data Analytics/Data Science; Human Computer Interaction/User Experience).
We encourage students to get involved with the iSchool to learn more about Information Sciences. These experiences will help to strengthen your application to the BS/IS degree, and help build your personal and professional network.
