Wajih Ul Hassan, Sangeetha Abdu Jyothi, Abdulrahman Mahmoud, Doris Xin, and Mengjia Yan have been chosen to participate in the prestigious Heidelberg Laureate Forum, where the world’s top young researchers in mathematics and computer science have a chance to learn from laureates in those fields.
Professor Sarita Adve was invited to share work done by the EPOCHS project, a collaboration with Professors Vikram Adve and Sasa Misailovic, as well as researchers at IBM, Columbia, and Harvard, to develop systems that combine the programmability of general-purpose computers with the hardware efficiency of specialized systems.

PhD student Shegufta Bakht Ahsan and Professor Indranil Gupta were the first outside of Microsoft to delve into the system’s architecture. “With university-industry collaborations, there are greater opportunities for students to do research,” noted Shegufta.
