NEW DOCUMENT: ILLINOIS REDCAP SERVICE MODEL

The Illinois REDCap Service Model was recently posted on the IHSI REDCap website. This document supplements the Illinois REDCap Account User Agreement by providing more information about the roles and expectations for Illinois REDCap support staff and Illinois REDCap users. The Service Model also provides additional information about project eligibility and the expected project lifecycle.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: REDCAP WORKSHOPS

The Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute and the University Library have partnered to make REDCap training available as part of their Savvy Researcher Workshops. These workshops are designed to help both novice and more advanced users understand Illinois REDCap’s capabilities.

REDCap I: Introduction to Illinois REDCap
In this workshop, you will learn the basics of Illinois REDCap and how it can be used for the collection of research data, including how to create projects, instruments, and surveys and how to start collecting research data. It is recommended (but not required) that you have a REDCap account prior to attending the workshop. No prior REDCap experience is necessary.

REDCap II: Advanced Abilities of REDCap  
This workshop will focus on advanced ways Illinois REDCap can be used to collect research data, including how to build or edit projects with a Data Dictionary, collecting data with repeatable instruments, and collecting longitudinal data with defined events. It is recommended (but not required) that you have a REDCap account prior to attending the workshop. Attending the “Introduction to Illinois REDCap” or having a working knowledge of REDCap is recommended before attending this workshop.

IHSI AND SCHOLARLY COMMONS PARTNER TO OFFER WEEKLY REDCAP CONSULTING

The Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute is offering REDCap consultations on Tuesdays during the fall semester from 9-11 a.m. in partnership with the Scholarly Commons, 306 Main Library. A REDCap application specialist will answer questions and provide information about using Illinois REDCap for data collection. PLEASE NOTE: There will be no office hours on Tuesday, October 15.
