CS + Animal Sciences, offered in partnership with the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, is first of degree of its kind in the country, expanding the number of blended CS + X degrees pioneered by Illinois CS to eleven.

A consortium of researchers has released gene sequences for more than 1,100 plant species, the culmination of a nine-year research project published in Nature. Due to the massive scope of the project, Prof. Tandy Warnow and collaborators developed new computational tools for sequence assembly and phylogenetic analysis.

 
 
 

An all-star team of researchers led by Prof. Lui Sha is working on an advanced autopilot to autonomously evaluate unforeseen circumstances, take the best course of action, and land a plane safely.

DeepScale’s technology was designed to help automakers use low-wattage processors, which are standard in most cars, to power very accurate computer vision.

Using data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, 24/7 Wall St. identified what it considers the 30 best college towns in America. Cities were ranked based on the share of residents enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate institution, with Champaign coming in at number 10.
