International Education week starts TODAY: please encourage your students and colleagues to attend the many events taking place in 308 Grant Hall and in UH.

MONDAY
12:00, 308 GH: Brush Calligraphy: A Transcultural Art in East Asia
A presentation by Chinese, Japanese, and Korean UIC faculty on the histories and forms of brush calligraphy in Chinese, Korean, and Japanese cultures, followed by hands-on practive in brush work; participants will make bookmarks using their own brush work on Xuan paper. No knowledge of Chinese, Japanese, or Korean needed.

TUESDAY
2:00, 308 GH: Streaming International
Join our own Chiara Fabbian, Sara Hall, Matthew Kendall, Steve Marsh, and Julia Vaingurt for a panel discussion exploring how Hulu's, Netflix's, and Amazon's (among others) new international line-up of series and films from around the world has changed the landscape of distribution and reception of film and TV shows, enriching our teaching and learning and offering opportunities for cross-cultural conversation and literacy.

Weekly Workshop: Adobe Spark
Do you make fliers for your events? Do you want to create eye-catching social media posts? Adobe Spark is a free online post and video creator that allows you to create one-of-a-kind graphics. Use one of their many templates or start from scratch - Adobe Spark will arrange your elements in a functional and aesthetically pleasing design. Come to this week's workshop to get a full tour of Adobe Spark and learn how to master Adobe Spark and upgrade your creations. Bring ideas and projects to be worked on together or just stop by for a tour.
