The campus-wide Cozad New Venture Challenge, held annually since 2000, is designed to encourage students to create new businesses. All teams who meet the requirements of the Cozad New Venture Challenge have the opportunity to compete in the Showcase & Finals event. Students will get to showcase their ideas to venture capitalists, early-stage investors, and successful entrepreneurs. More than $200,000 in cash and in-kind prizes will be awarded! Illinois Innovation Prize Awards Presentation | Apr. 15 | I-Hotel
The Illinois Innovation Prize (IIP) for $20,000 is awarded annually to a creative and passionate student working towards innovative solutions that could have a positive societal impact. Nominees of the Illinois Innovation Prize are also eligible to receive the Fiddler Innovation Fellowship ($10,000). Illinois I-Corps Cohort Applications Open
Do you have an interesting research idea and want to explore commercializing it? Faculty and students working on STEM-related technology can participate in the Illinois I-Corps program and receive up to $2,000 to explore the customer discovery process for their innovation. Applications for Cohort #28 are now open and accepted on a rolling basis. Cohort #28 classes will be held on Mar. 25, Apr. 8, and Apr. 27. Questions? Dual Engineering Degree
The BS degree in ILEE is for Grainger Engineering students to better understand the innovative processes involved in identifying complex technical problems and creating, developing, and leading efforts to provide engineering solutions. At this time, ILEE is only available as a dual degree for engineering students, but individual courses and certificates are available to students from any college. Attend Health Make-a-Thon to show your support to 20 finalists who will pitch their ideas in a "dolphin-tank-style" event on March 28th. Cozad New Venture Challenge 2020 teams- SepSig, Single Action Needles, and Anemone are also among the finalists. 10 teams will walk away with $10,000 each in resources and support, poised to develop their ideas into prototypes to improve human health.
