The COVID-19 Executive Steering Committee recently shared some important updates in an email message. Because we understand that many of you are receiving questions from graduate students about testing requirements, we want to call the following to your attention. Please direct them to this information as needed.
As you know, broad and frequent testing is important for the safety of our community. For that reason, on-campus COVID-19 testing is required for students working on-campus, attending in-person classes, or participating in any on-campus activities.
Students enrolled in on-campus programs and who live in Champaign, Urbana or Savoy need to test twice a week, even if they are taking courses remotely.
However, there may be cases where students have justification for an exemption due to medical, personal or family conditions, or other circumstances. In these cases, students may request an exemption by completing the form in their My McKinley Portal by logging in and selecting the “form” icon and then completing the Campus COVID-19 Testing Exemption Request.
