For Students

COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement

For the Fall 2021 semester, it will be required that all students (undergraduate and graduate) who are able to do so be fully vaccinated (defined as 14 days after the final dose) with a university-accepted vaccine before beginning the fall semester if they plan to be on campus with no additional health and safety obligations.

The university acknowledges that some individuals have health conditions or other reasons why they cannot be vaccinated. These individuals should not submit an exemption form for the COVID-19 vaccine requirement. Instead, unvaccinated students will be required to participate in the COVID-19 testing program for compliance and building access. See more information here

Verified Vaccination Record Card

If you haven’t already uploaded your Vaccination Record Card to the MyMcKinley Portal, you should do so as soon as possible. You must receive your final COVID-19 vaccine dose and have your Vaccination Record Card submitted in the MyMcKinley Portal before Monday, Aug. 9 in order to have it in place by the first day of classes for compliance and building access.

  • Log into the MyMcKinley Portal: https://mymckinley.illinois.edu
  • Click on the “Forms” button in the menu header.
  • Choose “COVID-19 Vaccine Record Consent.”
  • Fill out the form.
  • Upload a photo of your completed COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card. (A cell phone image is fine.)
  • Click submit.

COVID-19 Vaccinations for International Students

Based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), the university is currently accepting COVID-19 vaccines authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson (J&J)/Janssen, in addition to COVID-19 vaccines that have been authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO). You can find this list from the WHO in the right-hand column of this webpage

If you cannot get one of these vaccines before you return to campus, you will be able to receive an approved vaccine upon your arrival. You are required to participate in the COVID-19 testing program until you are fully vaccinated (defined as 14 days after final dose.) See more information here.

In-Person Classes

COVID-19 classroom capacity limits will be removed for the Fall 2021 semester. Following CDC guidance, vaccinated individuals will not be required to wear face coverings or social distance in classrooms. Unvaccinated individuals will continue to be required to wear face coverings in classrooms.
