iSchool Networking & Career Fair - Save the Date!

Fall Career Fair Update

To keep everyone safe, we've made some changes to our career fair format this fall. We'll be hosting two virtual fairs instead of one on campus fair. Student registration opens later this summer. In the meantime, please save these dates on your calendar.

  • September 23: Attend this fair to meet corporate employers looking for data science and analytics, business intelligence, and UX skills
  • October 7: Attend this fair to meet employers looking for LIS skills

What about other fairs? Most of our campus partners, including the engineering and business colleges tell us they plan to open their virtual fairs to the entire campus.

Students and alumni are invited to meet iSchool employers and professional organizations. Details and registration will be available on Handshake late summer 2020.

Are you interested in putting your computer and technical skills to good use? Do you like working with a variety of people?  If so, then you should think about becoming one of the U of I Tech Volunteers at Clark-Lindsey Village (a retirement community located just south of campus at Windsor and Race).  The U of I Tech Help at CLV Project started as a service-learning opportunity 12.5 years ago.  Students spend an hour on Friday afternoons (from 3-4 pm) in the CLV library helping residents with basic tech-related issues ranging from document formatting and setting up email on mobile devices to troubleshooting printers and using FaceTime, and everything else in between!  Check out this 2013 YouTube video about the project!

Use your skills to make a positive impact in someone else’s life!  Become a Tech Volunteer! Bring a friend!!  Help spread the word! This project is open to anyone on campus- not just INFO students.

If you are interested in participating this summer or in the fall, please send Karin Readel an email (kereadel@illinois.edu) to be added to the list.
