One of the initiatives of the YED is to sustain a scholarship fund in which young alumni can support current students. We hope to award our first scholarship this spring.

Gifts to the YED Scholarship fund are being accepted in the form of both one-time and recurring payments (for example, a $60 gift to the fund could be made by making a single payment in that amount up front or by making payments of $5/month over a period of one year).

To find out more about the impact of the YED Scholarship fund can be found at cee.illinois.edu/YED.

The Networking Committee hosted its first Virtual Happy Hour on Wednesday, September 30. Thank you to everyone who logged on to hang out and share a drink virtually. The Networking Committee is working hard to plan exciting virtual events for the Fall and Winter so keep an eye out for more details on upcoming events.

Based on the results of our recent survey, the Career Development committee is creating a wiki to compile resources related to professional development, licensure, and higher education for students and young alumni.

Got a specific topic you want to know more about? Licensure requirements? Grad school program types? Alumni info that could help your professional development? Feel free to submit your suggestions here! (https://forms.gle/j2r1mwbaFwh86qny7)

We'll be releasing the wiki next month, so stay tuned!

During this uncertain time we may not be able to replace some in-person experience with an online experience, but a study shows that there is no difference in the outcome between in-person mentoring and telementoring!  Just a reminder, YED Mentorship is free and can be done remotely!  We will connect you with an alumn(a) with more than 5 years of experience in the industry.

How do I sign up?  Keep an eye on the next email and/or social media posts about the next application coming out in December.
