Illinois College of Applied Health Sciences

Dear AHS faculty and staff:

The Dean's Office has prepared this email to help keep everyone better informed of upcoming events, lectures/symposia, announcements regarding faculty or staff achievements, and other items of interest.  This week the email focuses primarily on COVID-19 information and supports.  The links below will take you to important information, including teaching resources.  There is more information coming over the next few weeks, especially related to research and Human Resource issues. Please be patient; there is a lot to figure out to make this all work.

It’s not all COVID-19!  We are still collecting information about accomplishments and successes.  Be sure to submit your information. To ensure inclusion in Monday's email, we ask that you send information by 5 p.m. the previous Friday to communications@ahs.illinois.edu. Items will be reviewed and edited for style and grammar.  And, make sure you see our last announcement on this email.  It’s a happy one!

Stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Cheryl Hanley-Maxwell
Dean, College of Applied Health Sciences

STAY INFORMED

If you have any questions about COVID-19, refer to the campus COVID-19 update page to stay informed of this rapidly developing situation.

ONLINE TEACHING RESOURCES

The college and university are adapting to our new circumstances. Part of that is migrating classes online. The College of AHS has created an informational page that includes a collection of campus resources to help with that process.  If you have suggestions for other resources to add to this page, please send a note to communications@ahs.illinois.edu

MPH AND MSHA PROGRAMS HOST COVID-19 LECTURE

You can watch it here.

CAA VISIT POSTPONED IN SHS

The Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology has postponed its reaccreditation site visit, scheduled for March 26-27, to evaluate the speech-language pathology and audiology programs. CAA says it will reschedule as soon as possible.

RACE CANCELLED

The 8th Annual Illini Veterans Memorial 5K Walk & Run, scheduled for April 5, has been cancelled. Runners who signed up have been contacted about refunds. The 2021 race will take place on April 3.

NEW ARRIVAL!

In much happier news, congratulations to AHS Associate Director of External Engagement Danielle Runyon, and her husband Garrett, on the birth of their child, Rhys Gregory Runyon! Rhys was born Saturday, March 7, and weighed in at 7-lbs, 15-oz, and was 20 inches long.  Mom, dad, and baby boy are doing fine!
