Most Endangered Historic Places in Illinois

Landmarks Illinois is now accepting nominations for its 2022 Most Endangered Historic Places in Illinois. Nonprofit organizations, neighborhood groups, preservation advocates, city officials and residents of Illinois are encouraged to submit a nomination for a place in their community that is in critical need of preservation. Nominated sites must be valued by local residents, or celebrate local history or culture but are not required to be locally or nationally designated landmarks. The Most Endangered Historic Places in Illinois is Landmarks Illinois’ longest-running advocacy program. The annual list calls attention to historic and culturally significant sites throughout the state that are threatened with deterioration, demolition or inappropriate development. Landmarks Illinois will announce the sites selected for the 2022 Most Endangered Historic Places in Illinois at a virtual press conference in April 2022.

  LGE Webinar Series

Small businesses are often faced with unusual and significant challenges. On Tuesday, December 7 at noon, Local Government Education will cover one potential resource available to small-business owners here in Illinois to help them meet those challenges. SCORE, which is sponsored in part through the U.S. Small Business Administration, is a nationwide, non-profit organization which provides small-business mentoring on a wide range of topics, including startup, marketing, finance and more, via a network of more than 10,000 volunteer mentors. In addition to mentoring, its services include outreach, online resources, local workshops and other events. During this webinar, participants will learn about SCORE, who can benefit from SCORE’s assistance, how one can connect with SCORE for help, and feature individuals who have used SCORE’s services as support for their businesses.  The presentation will conclude with a Q and A.
