This lecture will address the challenges and relevance of transitional justice twenty years after the events of 9/11 and in the context of the return of the Taliban to territorial control of Afghanistan.  Lessons learnt over the past twenty years, and in particular the relevance of accountability, truth, justice and reparations to the 'war on terror' will be examined.

This series is made possible by the Chancellor’s 2021-2022 Call to Action to Address Racism & Social Injustice Research Program and co-sponsored by the Humanities Research Institute and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.  Additional support is provided by the Department of Education Title VI Program.

The Labor Education Program, who for three-quarters of a century has provided labor education for labor union members, is hosting a year-long reading group to consider the purpose and pedagogy of labor education, the historical relationship of labor education and higher education, and how labor ed intersects with gender studies, Black, Latinx, Asian, and Native American and global studies.

The Modern Endangered Archives Program (MEAP) is a UCLA Library granting program. We fund projects that document, digitize, and make accessible endangered archival materials from the 20th and 21st Centuries. Materials may include print, photography, film, audio, ephemera, and digital objects.

WGGP Gender Relations in International Development Graduate Minor

WGGP offers a graduate minor in Gender Relations in International Development (GRID). The GRID interdisciplinary minor is designed to give students the analytical and empirical skills needed to address and critically evaluate human development issues in research and policy analysis, as well as in daily life. As of 2021, GRID Alumni have come from 41 departments across campus and 52 different countries.
