Student Production Awards

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has opened the applications for their Student Production Awards. These awards recognize outstanding student achievement in production and are presented for a variety of categories including sports story, multimedia journalism, and newscast.

Applications are due by April 9, 2021.

UIUC Student Film Festival Submissions Open

All University of Illinois undergraduate students, filmmaking clubs, and production classes are invited to submit to the annual UIUC Student Film Festival. You can submit a short film of any genre (comedy, drama, music, dance, video essay, documentary, experimental, animations); home movie; or TikTok video. Winners will receive $100, $75, and $50 gift cards. Be part of a celebration of student filmmaking and creativity!

Submissions due April 9. Event streams May 1, 5:00 PM, at illinifilmfest.com.

In addition to helping you think about the scholarship search process, this page highlights many awards that are offered by media organizations across the country.

Walter Cronkite Scholarship

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is accepting applications for the Walter Cronkite Scholarship. Scholarships range from $1000-$3000. Awards are merit-based and are awarded to students who plan to pursue a career in the media industry. In addition to completing the application, students must submit links to creative video work along with two letters of recommendation from faculty. The deadline to submit all materials is April 30, 2021.
