Whether you are uncertain about career direction or very certain – or anywhere in between – prepare to attend the ACES + LAS Virtual Career Fair on Sept. 23.

Graphic: Tips for success

Our motivation to persevere and succeed in our work, especially through difficulty, is influenced by our sense of purpose. Spend some time writing down: what you care about, what brings you energy, who you want to help, how you want to make a difference, and what you love to do. Be curious: find your why and that will give you a better sense of your how.

Now is the time to ensure you have great study habits for your learning and course success. Visit with your course instructors and ask questions so they can better understand your interests and needs. Join a study group or two to help test and advance your understanding. Re-read your notes and other prep materials before each class.

Career readiness
A great way to explore career possibilities is to attend a career fair and learn what employers are looking for. What skills, experiences, and knowledge are they seeking? What kinds of jobs are they offering? What can they tell you about the people in their organization? Have your resume and elevator pitch ready, just in case.
