Parents and teachers alike can benefit from increased knowledge about child development. Understanding child development helps us know what children are ready to learn next, and it alerts us to their strengths as well as their struggles. Our new tool kit, Child Development, has you covered as you explore this topic. Check it out today and read more about child development milestones, concerns about development, and resources to help parents and teachers work together to address concerns.

Explore Our Resource Lists

Illinois Early Learning houses an extensive collection of resource lists that is always growing. Resource lists are a great way to begin learning about a new topic. Recently, we added resource lists about Supporting Children Who Experience Community Violence, Refugee Families, and National Organizations.

Our partner project, the Illinois Early Childhood Asset Map (IECAM), now offers an interactive map of children under age 18 by race/ethnicity. This map uses the newest U.S. Census redistricting data and allows users to zoom to neighborhood levels to examine race/ethnicity patterns among Illinois children to help evaluate the relationship between race/ethnicity and access to services and programs.
