CEE Online MS Program Ranked No. 1

For the second year in a row, CEE at Illinois has been named the No. 1 online civil engineering master’s degree program by U.S. News & World Report. The magazine ranked civil engineering specialty programs for the first time last year. Overall, five departments in The Grainger College of Engineering had online programs ranked in the top 10 for their respective areas, and the college ranked No. 9 in Best Online Master’s in Engineering Programs.

Ernest J. Barenberg (PhD 65), CEE professor emeritus and alumnus, died on Jan. 19, 2021. During more than 40 years on the University of Illinois CEE faculty, Barenberg educated and inspired generations of transportation engineering professionals.
