Amy Glenn facilitates Coaching session at MGRdev

The IT Manager Development Program, or MGRdev for short is a hands-on, skills-based IT manager training program founded on research and led by experienced IT managers. Over a series of six monthly workshops, participants seek to improve skills in personal effectiveness to managing individual staff members to building teams.

As a graduate of the 2019 IT MGRdev cohort, Amy Glenn, Assistant Director of Business Process Improvement, knows just how beneficial the program can be. She found that the skills she learned during her time in the program helped her become a stronger facilitator and manager. But this year, Amy will be on the facilitating side of MGRdev as she's been asked to guide the participants on the subject of coaching.

Coaching is defined as, "helping to identify the skills and capabilities that are within the person, and enabling them to use them to the best of their ability". Amy will be helping the 2021 MGRdev cohort to understand what coaching is, why it matters, the skills it takes and related framework. Amy says that the biggest benefit participants will walk away with is developing a growth mindset within themselves and others.

If you have questions or want to learn more about MGRdev, please visit the MGRdev website!

Happy Customers

I just attended a webinar related to college surveillance testing. After listening to the discussion, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for everything you have done this year to initiate SHIELD IL testing and then to bring it to a level where you could share it with other campuses. The webinar showed me vividly how very fortunate our college is to be part of the SHIELD program and have this resource close enough for our usage. I'm sure there are days when you were tired, overwhelmed or all of the above. Thank you for staying the course and helping all of us to live safer.

High Fives & Fist Bumps

Even though no one asked, Jodi Wright stepped up to learn and help Lori and I with the iBuy PO Non-Deliveries, C-FOAP associations and formatting of Ship To Addresses tasks. This provided a lot of time relief to us, since instead of doing these tasks bi-weekly, we now each to them every 3 weeks and also helps with getting coverage when one of us needs to be out of office. Thank you, Jodi!
