Stay Informed: COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

In recent weeks, you have received various updates with information related to the widening COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak and the ways the situation may affect our university and community. As the COVID-19 situation develops, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is taking measures to protect our students, faculty, staff and community. After spring break, campus will move to online and alternate learning methods that will replace face-to-face instruction until further notice.

If you leave campus for Spring Break please take everything that you need to continue your studies remotely. This could include books, computers, supplies, etc.

For those traveling during Spring Break, please continue to monitor the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) travel advisories for anywhere you plan to travel. As a reminder, anyone who travels to a location that is a CDC Level 2 or Level 3 country or region will be placed on a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine before they are allowed to return to campus. For more information, please see the university’s self-quarantine policy. If you are planning to travel to those areas, you must fill out the COVID-19 Travel Risk Screening Form that can be found here.

There is still space available in the residence halls for anyone who would like to remain on campus during break. For more information, please see the University Housing website.

After spring break, students are encouraged to consider staying at their permanent home. However, students who are unable to return home or who do not have adequate access to computer and internet access at home are welcome to return to campus.

We know there will be many questions, and we'll continually update you as the situation develops. All of the most up-to-date information will be available at this FAQ: covid19.illinois.edu/frequently-asked-questions.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to manage this ever-evolving situation.
