Illinois employees scale Mt Everest 13 times during Club Illinois Challenge

The UI Wellness Center’s Climb Illinois Challenge was a success! The purpose of the challenge was to increase employees’ use of the stairs at work. And our participants were up for the task! Over the course of the four week event, participants traveled a combined total of 40,291 floors. That’s over 13 trips to the top of Mount Everest. For more details about our participants’ accomplishments checkout our infographic.

Channel 3, WCIA News featured our employees’ dedication in a news story about the challenge. View the video here.

We thank all our participants and encourage everyone to join us in future challenges!

Since the fund’s inception in 1992, more than 1,000 academic professionals and faculty and staff members have been helped. Learn how you can help a co-worker in need.
